Week Two - What is powerful to you?

front:back:This challenge really made me think. At the time, my friend James was here for a visit, and hes often the sort of person who can really make me think. He asked me "what is powerful to you?" and I said "I dont know. Anything that comes to mind sounds like a cliche. Or like I'm trying to sound 'deep'." So he asked me "What means most to you in this world?" and I said "My family". We decided that while this is probably a typical answer that alot of people would give, it is still the truth. It may be a cliche, but to me its real. So next he asked me "What is it about family that means so much? Is it purely because you are tied with blood? Or is it something different?". So I came to the conclusion that its LOVE. I believe there are many types of love. You love your best friend, you love your mum, you love your partner, you love your cat... the list goes on. And I think you love each of them in a completely different way. But when it comes down to it, no matter what kind it is, its still just love.

This led me to my title for the week.

"Its only love".

There are several reasons for this.

One: its one of my favourite Beatles songs. In the song he says "Its only love, and that is all. Why should I feel the way I do?". In other words, Love obviously IS a powerful thing, and he is trying to understand how it can make you feel so much.
Two: No matter what kind of love it is, its only love. Not 'only' as in thats all, but its only ever going to be called love. Nothing else.

I'm loving the way these challenges are making me think. I'm normally the sort of person who cant really interpret things other than in a quite literal way. And I find it hard to put emotions down without sounding cheesy. Cant wait until next week!!
